How Electric Fence Works
√ Low costAn electric fence can perform the same task as a conventional fence using much less material.Depending on the length of the fence where the cost of the energiser may be spread over, this type of fencing generally proves to be cheaper than standard stock fencing.
√ Easy to buildLower wire tension and generally lighter construction make much quicker and easier construction, especially in difficult terrain. No special ability is required making it suitable for DIY.No speciallist knowledge is required and an electrician is not necessary. As long as a few simple rules are followed an effective fence may be erected by the householder.√ DurabilityElectric fences are not subjected to the same physical pressure from animals, and can therefore be expected to have a greatly extended service life. The life of old stock fences can be considerably extended using an electric fencing outrigger.√ Universal applicationExperience world wide has shown that electric fencing will contain all types of animals. This includes Elephants, bears, walrus, hippo and even snails.Educated stock develop greater respect for electric fencing than for any other type of fence.√ FlexibilityThere is no quicker or easier way to effectively subdivide a paddock for controlled grazing than with an electric fence.Fences are frequently moved on a daily or even hourly basis with high density grazing or on dairy farms.
It's a device that takes in electrical energy from an outside source (either a 110V outlet or a battery) and then pushes the energy out through the positive fence terminal in very brief, high-voltage, high-amperage pulses. The negative ground terminal absorbs any excess pulse energy back into the energizer.Forming the heart of your electric fence system, energizers provide the source for the electric current that flows through the fence wire. The amount of electric current output (size) and power source AC (110 V) , battery or solar differs across energizer products.
Want to test your electric fence to see if it is working properly? With Lydite electric fence testers, you will be able to access your fence's voltage and current output readings. It's always good to be prepared and to have the knowledge of how well your electrical fence is working, rather than to be unaware of an electrical problem.
– Want to know if your electric horse fencing system is working without having to touch it and get shocked? The electric fence alert will verify that your electric fence is working properly and is energized with a warning light for low voltage.
According to the needs of different animal types, we provide poultry nets (chicken nets, rabbit nets), sheep nets, and wildlife nets (deer nets, horse nets).
The visual combination of a close mesh of vertical and horizontal wires encourages animals to touch it with their sensitive nose, ears or beak. But all horizontal strands (an exception is the strand on the ground) in most netting connects to a powerful fence energizer that sends a shock down the wires every second. Result? Animals conclude the fence itself is painful—and then avoid it.
